Villages surrounding Bandipur and Nagarhole national forests always face problems from elephants and other wild animals. Elephants incur maximum damage to the farmers by feasting on their fields. To overcome this problem, the forest department had installed railway rods to stop elephants from moving out of forests into the villages in search of food.

An elephant which tried to pass through the railway fencing by kneeling under it got stuck under the fence. Though it was trying to pass out of the fence to enter the nearby village, but couldn’t find a way to pass through. In the process, it got stuck. Forest guards came to the rescue of the pachyderm and helped it wriggle out of the problem.
