Police in Emali have arrested two suspects with elephant tusks worth an estimated value of Ksh3.3million.

According to Nzaui Sub-County OCPD Patrick Olienyi, undercover police who were posing as potential buyers intercepted the duo.

They are in police custody awaiting to be arraigned in court.

It is expected that they will be charged with illegal possession of ivory, an offence that has attracted fines of up to Ksh.60million in the past as well as life imprisonment.
