Ranni: Forest officials on Monday found a male elephant with serious injuries inside forest at Aadukuzhy near Kattachira here. The officials believe the tusker might have sustained injuries in a fight with another wild elephant. The elephant, which is around 20yearold, was spotted by the forest officials on Monday. Forest Department Veterinary Surgeon Abdul Fathel, who examined the elephant, found deep injury under its jaw, like the one caused by attack with an elephant tusk. The incident might have happened at least a week back, according to the forest officials.   The condition of the elephant is getting worse as it is unable to eat or drink, DFO Kochu Kanjiram said. It is being supplied with glucose and antibiotics.
Aadukuzhy comes under Thannithodu Forest Station.
