Cape Town – Forensic tests were being carried out on ivory worth R20- million seized by police in a Sea Point curio shop, the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court heard yesterday.

In the dock for the third time was the shop owner, Mark Goldberg, who at this stage is charged with the illegal possession of ivory worth R4-million.

Yesterday the prosecution said nature conservation officials were analysing the ivory forensically to determine its origin and value.
