Even as officials are in the final stages of cracking the Edamalayar elephant poaching case, Aandikunju alias Jijo Uravunkal, a key accused in the case, has gone missing.
According to officials, Jijo’s parents on Saturday filed a complaint at the Kuttampuzha police station stating that their son had been missing for the past four days. Jijo, who had been arrested from Kasaragod a couple of months ago, was nabbed by a special investigation team of the Forests Department. As per reports, Aandikunju tried to stab himself when forest officials rounded him up. However, the officials overpowered him before he could make any fatal injury on his neck with the knife he had kept.
