Animals Asia Foundation (AAF), a government-registered charity based in Hong Kong, will co-operate with the Dak Lak Province’s Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to carry out various programmes for rescue and conservation of elephants.

David Neale, AAF’s animals welfare director, said the department would sign a co-operation agreement with AAF as well as organise an international workshop on elephant conservation and participate in rescue of captive elephants.

The Central Highlands province is home to 80-100 wild elephants and 43 elephants held in captivity, according to the Dak Lak Elephant Conservation Centre.
