An elephant attacked and destroyed a newly built house in the Ghasmari area on Wednesday. As per sources, elderly people were residing in the house.
Locals rescued the senior citizens after the attack and the elephant was chased back into the forests.
Diana Range’s ranger, Subhashish Chatterjee, said that the forest department is keeping an eye on the movements of the elephants. The people will be compensated for their losses.
