As many as four elephants damaged crops in Bhamini and Sithampet mandals in early hours of Tuesday, causing heavy loss to the farmers. The elephants which were in Vizianagaram forest limits for many days came to Srikakulam region.

The wild animals moved in various villages including Sankili, Vulavarai, and Pedabimili. The villagers informed the forest officials and sought to assess the damage to the crops and paddy which was stored in villages.
