BENGALURU: CID’s forest wing has arrested two people who were trying to sell seven elephant tusks near Savadatti bus stand on Friday.
The accused have been identified as Santosh (23), a painter by profession, and Sooraj (25), a keymaker. Both are residents of Gokak in Belagavi.
According to police officials the duo had stored the elephant tusks after killing the tuskers in Khanapur forests.
The duo were carrying the tusks in bags and were waiting for a customer near Savadatti bus stand.
