Four suspected poachers have been apprehended by a joint team of Kenya Wildlife Service and Police officers from Loitoktok Police Station on the Kenya-Tanzania border.

Working on intelligence, officers arrested the four male suspects who were in the process of selling the game trophies in the Simba Cement area, Kajiado South Sub-County, south of Nairobi.

The four are currently in custody, awaiting to be arraigned. The elephant trophies are in safe custody at the station as exhibits.

Engaging in poaching and trading in-game products is illegal and attracts hefty penalties.

“Preservation of wildlife is vital for our country, and police encourage public members to promote wildlife conservation and report any criminal acts to our law enforcement teams,” said the National Police Service.
