The smuggled ivory was found in the suitcase of a Vietnamese national in transit at the airport between flights from Angola to Cambodia, according to local media reports on Saturday.
A total of 20 items were seized, including 15 ivory tusks and five processed ivory products, according to Tada Chumchaiyo of the Customs Investigation and Suppression Bureau.
Approximately 3,000 kilogrammes of various animal parts are seized from wildlife traffickers in Thailand each year, the wildlife conservation office said.
