Friends of Elephant, an informal group that creates awareness about
elephant conservation and welfare, is organising a programme at
Rangasthala – Rangoli Metro Art Centre, MG Road on March 26 at 6.30
pm.

The theme is Elephant Crime. Elephants are often killed for their
invaluable ivory which is carved into ornaments and jewellery with
China being the biggest consumer for such products. The programme
includes a screening of the film The Ivory Poaching Wars by Earth
Report and a talk on “Dead or Alive: Tracking the trade on Elephants”
by Sharath Babu, Wildlife warden of Bengaluru. There will also be a
panel discussion on “Elephant and other wildlife trade – Whom do we
blame?
