The Forest Department has invited applications from the public to participate as volunteers in the All-India Synchronised Asian Elephant Census.
Those with previous experience will be preferred, and the age limit is 22 to 50, which may be relaxed based on physical fitness and previous experience.
Training will be imparted for volunteers at any one of the following places closest to their location — Bannerghata National Park, Aranya Bhavan Mysuru, Chikkamagaluru Forest Office, or Dandeli Nature Camp — and the venue will be communicated to those selected.
Attending the training programme is a must for participating in the census and selected volunteers should compulsorily participate on all the days of the census.
Participants will not be charged a fee and no remuneration will be paid for the exercise.
