Seven forest department workers had a narrow escape on Monday when an adult tusker overturned their vehicle at Upper Kalabari village in Banerhat. The foresters escaped unharmed only because the jumbo decided to go back once the vehicle had overturned. Foresters of Binnaguri Wild Life Squad had gone to Upper Kalabari to chase a herd that had strayed out of the Diana forest tract. They were driving the herd back towards Diana forest when the tusker turned around and started chasing their vehicle. Before the driver could manage to take the vehicle to a safe distance, the jumbo kicked it and overturned it with its trunk.
