BIRATNAGAR: An elderly died and another was injured when a wild tusker broke down a house in Sunsari at around 3:00 am today.
The deceased is identified as Ram Maya Rai (88) of Itahari Municipality-2 of Sunsari district. The elephant demolished the house where she was asleep.
Likewise, her grandson Bikram Rai sustained minor injury in the incident.
A team deputed from Area Police Office Itahari chased away the rampaging wild beast to forest immediately after the incident, said the Eastern Regional Police Office, Biratnagar.
