Wild elephants that roam into villages in search of food at times fall into unguarded wells and pits.

This footage recorded from Galgamuwa highlights the manner in which these animals meet with such fates, not due to their own carelessness but due to the negligence of human beings.
This herd has realised that it is easier to move through the already broken electric fences than breaking through them all over again.
Although the electric fences are broken, these wild elephants tred over them even though they are well aware that they will get electrocuted through these cables.
While the leader of the herd moves in the front, another animals remain at the end. This shows that even elephants care deeply for their young.
