Villagers residing nearby Haridwar’s Rajaji National Park are distressed as elephants stray into the fields, run amok and trample over standing crops affecting the livelihoods.The farmers have complained that the administration is taking negligible steps to prevent the menace. Jumbos can be seen bathing in the showers installed in fields. Scarcity of water inside the forests has forced the wild animals to stray outside.
