The elephant herd has caused widespread depredations at Bordoloni and Bakari Doloni villages under Gohpur subdivision of Biswanath district.

According to the villagers, the herd has come from the Kaziranga National Park and damaged property and crops. It may be mentioned here that the southern part of Gohpur falls under the sixth extension of the Kaziranga National Park.

The people of the affected area have urged the Government to execute a proper wildlife management strategy through well-trained forest guards and high-end technology.
