Kenya: Kirinyaga Man Trampled By Elephant

A farmer from Kirinyaga county is recuperating at Nyeri Provincial General Hospital after being trampled by an elephant.
 
The man was herding his livestock at Mt Kenya Forest on Sunday afternoon when an elephant emerged from the bush and attacked him.
 
The man was first treated at a local hospital in Kirinyaga county and transferred to Nyeri PGH.
 
A nurse at the hospital said the man was brought in critical condition.
 
The farmer went had a surgery yesterday as he had broken ribs.
 
Meanwhile, an eight-year-old boy is broke his hand when a monkey hit him with a wooden bar at Karima Hill in Othaya.
 
Locals have urged the Kenya Wildlife Service to remove the monkeys from the forest as they are a nuisance.
