Kericho CID officers on Monday arrested a man with eight elephant tusks worth Sh1.25 million, weighing 12.5kg.
Two other suspects escaped.
Gilbert Cheruiyot was arrested near Oil Libya petrol station.
The officers, acting on a tip-off, posed as potential buyers.
Cheruiyot was taken to Kericho police station.
