The US ambassador Robert Godec hosted Kenya’s top entertainment personalities during the launch of Tusimame, an anthem calling for awareness on the poaching of elephants for ivory.
The single is part of South Sudan singer Emmanuel Jal’s campaign against the destruction of Africa’s heritage and for the protection of Africa’s elephant titled #StandForElephants.
Jal is joined by other musicians like Kenya’s Juliani, Tanzania’s Vanessa Mdee and Congo’s Syssi Mananga.
The worldwide release of Tusimame is performed in Kiswahili, Nuer, Chinese, English, French and Lingala. The four performed at the ambassador’s residence.
Faced with a rapid decline of the elephant population in Africa, the campaign aims at educating through music, messaging, social media and peace culture.
