Liquid Telecom Kenya is set to provide free Wi-Fi for the Elephant
Protection Initiative summit set to be held in Kenya on April 29th and
30th.

“We are providing Wifi to the Elephant Protection Initiative summit,
the summit is going to be at the Mt. Kenya Safari lodge,” William
Oungo, Head of Government Affairs, Liquid Telecom Kenya, said during
an exclusive interview with CIO East Africa.

“The summit will involve Presidents of 8 African countries, hosted by
our own Uhuru Kenyatta. Global celebrities and businessmen, such as
Richard Branson, will be joining by video conference; so the
technology is fundamentally important. This creates a wonderful
opportunity for Liquid to showcase its technical and service delivery
excellence.” He added.

said Kenya will host Hollywood A-listers, top conservationists, music
superstars and media moguls on April 29 and 30 during the Elephant
Protection Initiative summit,” reported the Nation.

Prof Wakhungu also announced that over 120 tones of recovered ivory
will be destroyed during the summit.

“This is the largest amount of ivory to be destroyed by any country in
the world and it is a sign of our commitment to zero tolerance for
poaching and illegal ivory trade,” she said.
