Close on the heels of six elephants died in Kodagu district recently, another incident of an elephant getting electrocuted came to light from Bommnahalli in Gudlupet which comes under Kundakere forest range of Bandipur National Park, today.
The forest officials, who conducted mahazar, said that the male elephant which came in search of food came into contact with an electric fence illegally installed in a private farm and died on the spot.
The forest sleuths have booked a case and are in search of landowner who is absconding.
