A Mombasa Tycoon and his two sons have been arrested by police over the Sh500 million ivory seized in Singapore last month.
 
Abdurahman Mohammed Sheikh was arrested Wednesday night with his two sons – Sheikh Abdurahman Mohammed Sheikh and Mohammed Sheikh Abdurahman at their home in Nyali following weeks of investigations.
 
The family is believed to be the main suspects behind the shipping of the 3.7 tonnes of ivory seized last month in Singapore.
 
Customs officials in Singapore last month seized 3.7 tonnes of illegal ivory from Kenya in the second-largest haul since 2002. It is valued at Sh579 million ($60million).
 
The seizure came in the wake of the interception of another three tonnes of Kenyan ivory worth Sh500 million seized in Thailand.
