My name is Judith Njuguna, a Bsc. Geomatics Engineering and Geospatial Information Systems Degree holder from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Kenya and a previous GIS Analyst intern with World Agro-forestry Centre (ICRAF), Kenya.

I have been working as an intern at Save the Elephant from July 2010. One of my assignments involves:

Making maps using images obtained from the live tracking of elephants. The maps are used in the monthly elephant tracking report and also harmonizing existing spatial data layers acquired by Save the Elephants and its partners by way of developing a shared geo-database for the organization in order to have a uniform repository of geographic data.

I hope to gain more knowledge and exposure as I complete my six months internship with Save the Elephants.
