The Acornhoek police have arrested three men in separate cases, two in possession of a lion head and claws and one in possession of an elephant tusk.

All three men appeared before the Acornhoek Magistrate’s court on June 22.

“The police received a tip-off of two men in possession of a lion head and paws in Buffelshoek, Acornhoek. The suspects were identified as Thokozane Fakude (31) and Bheki Mazibuko (32). Where they got the head and claws is still unknown”, Constable Mxolisi Ndlovu, Acornhoek police spokesperson said.

Meanwhile in Mahashe, Acornhoek, 35 year old Andries Munyai was arrested for the possession of an elephant tusk.

“After the police received information that the suspect was in possession of ivory, we acted upon the tip-off and conducted a search of his home and the tusk was discovered inside a wardrobe,” Ndlovu concluded.
