The search for the tiger that had stalked cattle in the villages close to Nagarahole National Park boundary, and had attacked a coffee estate worker on Friday, was found dead near Nittur village in Thithimathi territorial range of Kodagu district on Sunday morning.

The male tiger around 9 to 10 years had wounds on its body sustained in a territorial fight with a dominant male, which had ejected it from its domain, said a forest official. This is the fifth tiger death in the last three weeks in the Nagarahole-Bandipur range.
