Bhubaneswar: A male elephant was found dead at Satakosia jungle under the Karanjia forest range area in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district this morning.
According to information, some locals first saw the body of the tusker lying in the jungle and informed forest official.
Though exact death behind death of the elephant was yet to be ascertained, yet forest officials suspect that the tusker might have died in attack of female elephants of a herd. The officials have started investigation into the matter.
It may be noted that female elephants usually drive away male ones from the herd when they get physically matured.
