Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Police have arrested two more people in connection with elephant poaching case.

The arrested have been identified as Hemant Kumar of Uloor and Poojapura native Vikraman. They are accused of making ivory idols for Delhi-based businessman Umesh Aggrawal, who is suspected to be the kingpin of the gang.

About 160 idols and more than 100 elephant tusks were seized from him. The wildlife department officials had to depend on Delhi Police to transfer the huge haul of elephants tusks, weighing around 520 kg.
Based on Umesh Aggarwal’s statements, the officials were able to gather details on the people, who made ivory idols, and that led to the arrest of the two.
