Tusker terror up in Dhangadhi (Nepal)

DHANGADHI: A herd of wild elephants have been terrorising locals of various wards of Dhangadhi Municipality for the past one week.
 
According to Female Community Health Volunteer Laxmi Malla, the elephants have destroyed cultivated land belonging to one dozen farmers at Shantinagar of the municipalityon Friday night.
 
Similarly, the elephants have also destroyed paddy worth millions of rupees in Biyabehadi of Dhangadi Municipality-2 on Thursday.
 
Locals claimed that the elephants which came from the Dudhua National Park of India destroyed the crops.
 
Meanwhile, normal life in the city has been adversely affected due to the tusker terror.
 
The locals have been forced to stay alert round the clock.
 
Likewise, the elephants have also been terrorising locals of Ratnapur and Rampur among other VDCs of Kailali district, said Inspector Manohar Prasad Bhatta.
