Tusker tramples 50-yr-old to death in Ambikapur village (India)

RAIPUR: A man was trampled to death by an elephant at Ambikapur in Surguja division late on Thursday evening. The man had gone to answer nature’s call in the open. 

SB Singh Chandel, forest ranger, Ambikapur, said, despite forest department’s alert about movement of tuskers in the region, Sai Uraon, 50, who was suffering from upset stomach, stepped out of his house. 

The region is witnessing movement of about 25 elephants, which are divided into two groups. While area of the incident is Rajouti village, Sitapur has also been facing frequent damage of houses and crops.
