Deux (02) éléphants sortis du parc régional W du côté de Banikoara sèment la panique au sein des populations et détruisent des champs céréaliers dans la localité de Kpako, village et arrondissement de Founougo, commune de Banikoara.
Cette scène n’est pas la première dans cette région du Nord Bénin. Les villages et champs situés autour du parc régional W sont régulièrement pris d’assaut non seulement par ces pachydermes, mais également par d’autres animaux sauvages vivant dans ce lieu touristique protégé. Ces derniers temps, le phénomène a baissé d’intensité compte tenu des actions renforcées des gardes forêt.
