Two Malindi Men Deny Ivory Charge (Kenya)

Three men have been charged in a Malindi court with having eight elephant tusks and a leopard skin, all worth Sh1.5 million.

The three were arrested on May 6 at Marereni, Magarini subcounty.

Lugande Ziro, Kazungu Katana and Kombe Mwarandu were also charged with having 200 grammes of bhang.

Ziro pleaded guilty to the trophy charges but denied the drug one.

Katana and Mwarandu denied all charges before resident magistrate Janet Wandia and were each released on Sh100,000 bond.
