A wild elephant wandered into the South Satali Village of Medabari Gram Panchayat, Kalchini Block last night and caused a ruckus in the area.
The mammal made his way out of the Chilapata Forests in search of food. Panchayat head Chandra Narginari stated that 14 houses were destroyed in the elephant’s attack.
It has been reported that the forest department of the Kodalbasti Range Office was notified immediately, but the forest officials did not reach the village.
The mammal returned back to the forests after the incident.
