KAKARBHITTA: A baby wild elephant was found dead at Thoplebiran Community Forest in Mechinagar-4 of Jhapa district on Saturday morning.
The 10-year-old male elephant died due to electric shock, the District Forest Office, Morang informed.
A joint team of the District Police Office, Morang and the District Forest Office in the district reached the spot and confirmed the death of wild elephant.
Last year, another wild elephant was found dead at Bahunidanda in the district.
More than two dozen of wild elephants were reported dead in various places in Jhapa and Morang district since 11 years
