A group of 13 wild elephants and a ‘lone elephant’ who strayed away from its herd are captured by an infrared camera entering farmland in a village in Yunnan looking for food in early morning, February 7, 2017.

They also went to the local village in Menghai County, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, in Southwest China’s Yunnan Province.

It’s dry season in Yunnan and wild elephants frequently appear around local villages looking for food in Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, CCTV News reported.

To keep track of the elephants’ whereabouts and avoid confrontations between the elephants and local villagers, local Forest Police and the Forestry Bureau have formed a team which is stationed in some villages to help track the elephants’ locations and provide early warning.
