February the 12th turned out to be a very unexpectedly exciting day as I’m learning is fairly common with life in Samburu. This afternoon Iain kindly asked myself and STE current Kenyan intern Zeituna if we would like to fly down to Nanyuki with him to pick up someone, we very excitedly said yes! The flight down was so beautiful; it gives you a whole new perspective of the area from the air, very magnificent indeed. Once in Nanyuki we had a lovely cup of tea, and Iain asked if I would like to be co-pilot for the journey home. So off we set back to Samburu, once we were up Iain explained the controls and I actually flew the plan for part the way back. It was incredible such a rush, I do not think I will stop smiling for a week. Wow what an incredible experience.

Then once back in camp we received a report that there were wild dogs nearby. We set out and found a pack of 12 they had 9 pups which was very exciting news as they are a species that are really suffering and have been on the endangered list for quite some time. We sat and watched the family relax, socialise and play as the evening set in. It is a very special treat from nature seeing a Big healthy family of Wild Dogs.
