Wild Tusker on Rampage in Aurangabad (India)

A wild tusker went on a rampage at Sukradih village under Madanpur police station area of the district and damaged one Shiv Prajapati’s house on Sunday night.

On getting information, officers of the forest department rushed to the village and launched a drive to chase away the animal.

Divisional forest officer (DFO) Sudhir Kumar Karan said no casualty has been reported from the area and the tusker had damaged only one house. He said adequate compensation would be given to the victim and the process for this has been initiated.

The DFO also said so far only one elephant has entered Madanpur and forest staff are maintaining a strict vigil in the area.
